Maritime Yoga Retreats First Time - A Success!

Hello Everyone:

I know it has been too long since the last blog but there was so much to do to get ready for my first retreat, hopefully it won't be so long until the next one. The renovations and decorating got completed on time with the exception of my bedroom which was the overflow room while everyone was here. Hopefully it will be finished this fall because I desperately need closets!

We had a full house for last weeks retreat and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. The ladies were lovely and they all got along so well together and all had a wonderful time.

The food was excellent including lunch at Lavena's Catch Cafe, whale watching thrilling; with lots of whales & their antics, a wonderful educational guided tour of one of the mud flats in the Bay of Fundy and a terrific jewelry making workshop using seaglass. The weather was excellent and allowed us to have a few of the yoga classes outside including one overlooking the ocean. We even managed to fit in some beach combing at Sandy Cove Beach and had a bagged lunch there afterwards. There was a hike to Dartmouth Point on the last day, with some of the ladies reaching 20,000 steps on their fit bit! I hated to see them go.

Can't wait for next year's retreats!

Our resident food stylist for this retreat was Nina Secord, we didn't think of it at first but then the ladies decided to stage the food and Nina photographed it. Nina also took the picture of the nature walk on the mud flats as well as many other pictures over the course of the retreat so we have lots of wonderful reminders of their stay in the Maritimes.
